As part of the Meet the Team campaign here at Step Up, we are introducing you to Doreen.
Doreen joined Step Up in June 2016 as Step Up’s Office Manager.
Prior to joining Step Up, Doreen served for 27 years in the Royal Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. Her experiences in the navy allowed her to see a lot of the world and build good friendships with people she otherwise wouldn’t have. Doreen also gained experience as an Office Manager before joining Step Up, when she worked for a technology and gaming company.
Doreen is qualified to NVQ Level 4 in Management.
Doreen’s role as Office Manager with Step Up consists of managing the Health & Safety of the office, fielding calls from staff and assisting all employees with tasks and administration. Doreen also likes to build and maintain positive relationships with the people we support – she will always be the face of welcomeness at our office for staff, people we support, and visitors. PS… Doreen makes a rare cup of tea that should not be passed… when offered!
Doreen enjoys the different variety of tasks that she completes daily, she enjoys working and interacting with her colleagues and she enjoys the workload that she has so that she is always kept busy.
Doreen feels that Step Up is a rewarding job as she loves making a difference in people’s lives and is passionate about helping young people live independently and making improvements in their lives.
In her own time Doreen enjoys going on holidays, attending music festivals and reading books.
