Q: How long have you worked in the Care Sector?
A: I have been working in the Care Sector now for approximately 7 years.
Q: How did you end up in your line of work?
A: I ended up working in the Care Sector after studying at college, it was something I was really enjoyed and wanted to make a career out of it.
Q: What made you want to join the Step Up team?
A: I found the job role really appealing, Step Up seemed to be a dynamic company which I wanted to be a part of. There was also a number of good reviews on Indeed which made it seem like a good place to work.
Q: What’s been your biggest learning experience in your new role?
A: Definitely working with the young people that we support. Getting to know the young people, their habits and personalities, it’s been a big learning curve for me, but one that I have enjoyed.
Q: Could you tell us a little about how you’ve adapted your role in line with social distancing measures and how this has affected your work?
A: Social distancing has meant that I know have minimal face-to-face contact with the people that we support, but this has given me time to get to know the young people without the normal day-to-day activities distracting from this.
Q: What have you enjoyed most about working with Step Up so far?
A: I have enjoyed several aspects of my work so far, I like my duties, the rest of the team are brilliant and friendly, the young people I work with are great and getting to know them has been a good experience. The perks too like getting every second weekend off and the company car.
Q: What do you like most about your role?
A: Bit of a cliche, but every day is different! I’m faced with new challenges and tasks which makes my job fulfilling. The young people are a huge part of it too, making a difference for them is important to me. It’s great seeing them progress.
