What is a Support Worker?
A Support Worker helps people grow in physical and mental aspects. As a result, helping others to live a more independent and fulfilling life. Support Workers assist people from varied backgrounds, with diverse needs by providing their support. This means meeting many different people!
What are the Responsibilities?
Your responsibilities depend highly on the needs of who you are supporting. This is because each person is unique, meaning the work is unique too. For example, you may be helping to teach varied life skills, encourage personal development, provide emotional and physical support, and ensure an individual is taking proper care of themselves.
Will I Be Good at This?
Firstly, there are no qualifications necessary. Although experience is extremely helpful, training is provided. The most important factors in becoming a Support Worker are your values and core, transferrable skills. Here are some key aspects to consider…
