Wellbeing Hub
At Step Up, we believe that a positive and supportive work environment is essential, that’s why as part of Stress Awareness Month, we’re focussing staff wellbeing. As part of the campaign, we’ll be sharing helpful resources and information to encourage our team to prioritise their own heath and wellbeing. Working in social care can be a rewarding experience, but like any career, it can at times come with its challenges, that’s why we want to foster resilience and take a holistic approach to employee wellbeing.
Below you will find a range of resources covering everything from preventing burnout to getting a good night’s sleep. Staff can also access our internal staff drive with a whole host of support materials designed to provide information and sources of help for everything to do with Mental Health & Financial Wellbeing.

Preventing Burnout
Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by prolonged or excessive stress. It’s like a candle that’s been burning for too long; the flame flickers and eventually goes out. Burnout reduces productivity and saps your energy, leaving you feeling increasingly helpless, hopeless, cynical, and resentful.
Burnout isn’t the same as feeling stressed out. Stress is a normal reaction to challenges and pressures. But when stress continues without relief, it can lead to burnout. The good news is that burnout ca be prevented and managed! The below resources provide more information on burnout, and what you can do to prevent it.

Taking Care of Your Mental Health & Wellbeing
Taking charge of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health. By prioritising your wellbeing, you’re building mental resilience and setting yourself up to better manage stress and challenges. Proactive steps can help identify any issues early on, allowing you to address them before they become more serious. Think of it like car maintenance – regular check-ups prevent breakdowns, and catching warning signs early allows for easier solutions. Investing in your mental wellbeing empowers you to live a more fulfilling life.
